Protesters chanted: “We built the telecommunications sector, the IRGC plundered it, and we lost out” and “The IRGC’s Etemad Mobin has stolen our rights.”

On the same day, plundered investors of the ‘OMP Finex’ exchange gathered in front of the regime’s judiciary in Tehran to protest the seizure of their assets and three months of evasive excuses regarding the non-payment of their claims.

On Sunday, 4 October 2026, Social Security retirees held protests and marches in Tehran, Shush, Ahvaz, Kermanshah, Rasht, and Haft-Tappeh, while steel and iron ore retirees demonstrated in Isfahan. In Isfahan, protesters chanted: “Our enemy is right here; they lie that it is America.” In Tehran, retirees protested against rising poverty, chanting: “Enough with the promises, our tables are empty,” “Imprisoned workers, imprisoned teachers, and imprisoned protesters must be released,” and “We want nothing but our rights; we do not want the regime’s charity.”

In Kermanshah, retirees took to the streets chanting: “We want neither war nor massacre; we want lasting prosperity,” “War and negotiations are excuses; our lives are the target,” and “Political prisoners must be released.” In Shush, protesters emphasized that pensions do not cover living costs due to skyrocketing inflation, chanting: “Salaries are below the poverty line, while prices rise every day.” Retired sugarcane workers of Haft-Tappeh, asserting their resolve to secure their rights, chanted: “The street is our barricade; the struggle continues until our demands are met” and “Bread and freedom are inseparable.”

Separately, on Sunday, students of the Mathematics Faculty at the Rezai-Nejad campus held a sit-in to protest unjust rulings and the expulsion of students by the regime’s disciplinary committees. Furthermore, shopkeepers at the Jannat Bazaar in Tehran staged a protest against eight months of uncertainty and empty promises from officials following a fire at the bazaar.
