The latest report by the International Atomic Energy Agency submitted to its Board of Governors yesterday left no doubt about the nature of the Iranian regime’s nuclear program. The regime’s efforts to deceive, to continue with its clandestine nuclear program and refusing to cooperate with the agency’s investigations, as referred to in the report, only are aimed at buying time to obtain nuclear bomb.
Since August 2002, when the Iranian Resistance unveiled the secret nuclear sites in Natanz and Arak, it has constantly reiterated that the regime’s nuclear program is designed to produce nuclear weapons.
But the international community and in particular the European Union allowed the regime to get closer to the nuclear bomb by offering concessions to and holding talks with the medieval regime for the past six years. Negotiations with the regime and offering incentives packages have only emboldened the mullahs to expedite their program to acquire nuclear weapons.
The report to the Board of Governors underlines the concerns about the regime’s refusal to respond to crucial issues on the military dimensions of its nuclear program and stressed that the regime refrained from providing information on “the circumstances of the acquisition of the uranium metal document; clarify procurement and research and development activities of military related institutes and companies that could be nuclear related; and clarify the production of nuclear equipment and components by companies belonging to defence industries.”
The report emphasizes that since the previous report in September the regime not only refrained to provide “access to documents, information and personnel” as requested by the agency to verify the nature of the regime’s nuclear program, but also refused to cooperate.
The report reiterates that while the Iranian regime continued with its enrichment activities, production and installation of new centrifuge cascades and launching of new generation of centrifuges in defiance to the international community’s demands, the agency was not able to make any progress in response to “key remaining issues of serious concern.”
The Iranian Resistance once again reminds the international community of the immediate threats of the regime to peace and stability in the region and the world. It also calls on the United Nations Security Council to adopt a firm policy vis-à-vis the regime including imposition of comprehensive arms, diplomatic, technological and oil sanctions. The final respond to the threats of the ruling fundamentalist regime in Iran which is rapidly trying to obtain nuclear bomb is a democratic change by the Iranian people and their Resistance.
