NCRI – On the third day of strike by Bazaar merchants, Tehran’s Bazaar has been shut down since this morning on its entirety including shops selling gold, Small Chaharsou, carpet shops, Kiloyiha Bazaar, fabric sellers, curtain shops, shoe shops, tailor workshops, garment sellers, southern section of Tehran Bazaar including Abbas-Abad, Hamam Chal pivot, southern pivot of Charsou, Kuwaiti Bazaar, fruit and vegetable sellers, Naser-Khosro, Peleh Nowrouzkhan and Pamenar. The Iranian regime hypocritically intends to cover up the strike by putting up a mourning black sign at the main entrance of Bazaar announcing its closure on the religious occasion of ‘death of Imam Mousa Kazem’ while Bazaar was never closed on this occasion in previous years.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance lauded the brave Bazaar merchants and stated that no section of the Iranian society has remained immune to cruelty, oppression and aggression by the anti-human clerical regime. Events of the past three days in Tehran Bazaar indicate that the entire Iranian society is seeking the overthrow of the religious fascism ruling Iran and establishment of democracy. Mrs. Rajavi pointed out that the strike in Tehran Bazaar is a warning to all those foreign investors who still think of invest in Iran and continue relation with the faltering regime.

At around 10:30 local time on Thursday, the third day of strike by Tehran Bazaar merchants, over 500 merchants protested chanting “Death to dictator” and “with God’s help victory is imminent, down with the hypocritical government.” A number of students and youths joined them in this protest. The regime’s agents severely injured with baton and knuckle-duster a young person who carried a camera.

At 13:00, a large number of Bazaar merchants and youths assembled in shoe Bazaar and voices of their slogans could be heard as “Death to Khamenei,” “death to Ahmadinejad” and “with God’s help victory is imminent, down with the hypocritical government.” All the entries to shoe Bazaar were blocked by the security and intelligence agents of the regime.

In addition, around 800 youths and Bazaar merchants demonstrated in Bouzarjomehry Street, near the main entrance to the covered Bazaar of Tehran, chanting “Death to dictator” and “death to Khamenei.”

These protests are taking place while since this morning plainclothes agents of the regime in gangs of 10 to 30 as well as massive number of suppressive forces have assembled in different regions of Tehran including Toopkhaneh Square, Tehran Bazaar, Pamenar and Sirous Street. Also in Isfahan, plainclothes agents have assembled at Ghaysarieh Bazaar in Naghsh-e-Jahan in order to put up pressure on Bazaar merchants to end the strike.
