Iranian hunger strikers’ health becomes unstable in 6th week

NCRI – The state of health of Iranian dissidents on hunger strike in Camp Liberty (Iraq), London, Geneva, Ottawa, and Berlin becomes unstable as many protesters have been diagnosed with high fluctuation of blood pressure. At least one protester was hospitalized for heart pain caused by the long hunger strike.

The worldwide hunger strike by Iranian dissidents including hundreds of residents of Camp Liberty is part of an international campaign urging the U.S. Government and the United Nations to act to free seven Camp Ashraf residents taken hostage by Iraqi forces under the command of Nouri Al-Maliki.

Many hunger strikers are suffering from problems such as headache, dizziness, digestive problems, skeletal pains, blurred vision, loss of hearing, and sleep disturbances.

The seven Camp Ashraf residents that include six women were taken hostage during the September 1 attack on the camp. The Iraqi forces also killed 52 members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) by delivering coup de grace shots while some hundcuffed.

Although, The US and UN have made commitments to the residents of Camp Liberty and Camp Ashraf regarding the safety and security of residents of Ashraf, they have been silent and have resorted to inaction regarding the heinous crime at Camp Ashraf and taking seven residents as hostage by Maliki’s.
