Iranians in Sweden and Italy join hunger strike for Camp Ashraf Seven

NCRI – Iranian dissidents in Stockholm and Rome have joined an international hunger strike to demand release of seven Camp Ashraf residents taken hostage by Iraqi forces.

The hunger strike began after the massacre of 52 members of the People’s Mojahedin organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) by Iraqi forces on September 1 and today is 80th day of hunger strike at Camp Liberty.

Protesters in Geneva, London, Berlin, Ottawa and Melbourne have all refused to eat, with many becoming very weak and losing more than 20 per cent of their weight.

Iranians in the Swedish and Italian capitals have now joined the strike, which is also demanding that the US and UN deploy Blue Helmets peace-keeping troops to protect the residents of Camp Liberty in Iraq.

Due to the exceptional anxiety of the strikers’ families and the Iranian community, the Iranian Resistance calls on President Obama for intervention and urgent action to secure the release of the hostages.
