Six weeks after removing Pour-Mohammadi, the Interior Minister, Ahmadinejad, the mullahs' president, appointed Mehdi Hashemi, a long time criminal Revolutionary Guard as interior ministry caretaker, official news agency reported. This is an indication of heightening internal disintegration and feuding where Ahmadinejad was unable to introduce a minister rather.
Mehdi Hashemi has a long record in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Ministry of Defence and affiliated organizations. He was engaged in the Iran-Iraq war for years. He has also been the chief of the municipalities' organization, interior ministry deputy in development as well as Ahmadinejad’s legate to other government organizations.
Replacing Pour-Mohammadi, one of the most criminal figure-heads, by Mehdi Hashemi, is part of the regime’s plan to settle domestic infighting and to bring forth those who are most dedicated to Khamenei-Ahmadinejad faction. This is a clear sign of the faltering state of the regime especially after the Majlis election sham last March.
