Iranian Resistance condemns death sentence against Tariq Aziz

Tariq Aziz‎NCRI – The Iranian Resistance strongly condemns the death sentence against Tariq ‎Aziz, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq. This ‎constitutes a flagrant violation of the most basic legal standards internationally ‎recognized.‎

The death penalty for a 74-year-old politician, after seven and a half years in prison ‎and in poor health, was pronounced at the request of the religious fascism ruling Iran ‎and Maliki’s gang. ‎

They are trying in vain to divert the attentions from the appalling crimes they had ‎committed against the Iraqi people; the kind of crimes that in recent days have ‎outraged the Iraqi public and the human conscience in the twenty-first century. It is no ‎coincidence that the verdict was welcomed by the mullahs’ regime and caused a wave ‎of joy among its authorities.‎

The Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights organizations, the United ‎States and the United Nations, given their obligations vis-à-vis Iraq, to intervene ‎urgently to prevent the execution of Mr. Tariq Aziz and the continuing brutal and ‎systematic human rights violations in Iraq.‎
