Rouhani blames new virus outbreak on public, threatens re-imposing restrictions

Maryam Rajavi: Insolence and projecting blame on others will go on ceaselessly until the regime is overthrown, in well-known pattern of the anti-human mullahs, the main culprits of death and destruction in occupied Iran

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on Monday, May 25, 2020, the Coronavirus death toll in 320 cities across Iran had exceeded 44,300. The death toll in Tehran is 7,180, Khuzestan 3,390, Gilan 2,755, Sistan and Baluchestan 1,402, Lorestan 1,365, Kermanshah 1,010, Kerman 545, and North Khorasan 525.

Despite the terrible news of renewed Coronavirus outbreaks in different provinces, once again, Rouhani shamelessly projected blame on the public and threatened to re-impose restrictions. During a call with the regime’s Interior Ministry that was reported by the state official news agency, ISNA, Rouhani “received reports from several of the provinces, where the spread of the virus has increased due to people’s disregard for health protocols and said: If the people of these provinces and cities do not observe the health protocols, we will have to reinstate some of the limitations.”

In a call with the governor of Khuzestan, Rouhani whose remarks were published on his website, today, confirmed that while receiving a “full report of … the growing trend of the number of patients in this province due to the lack of full compliance with health protocols …the increasing number of patients may lead to the return of some restrictions to the province.”

According to Fars News Agency on May 24, 2020, Haririchi, the deputy health minister, announced a “200 to 300 percent increase in the number of patients in Dezful” in Khuzestan Province. He was also quoted by the state-run news site, Khabar Network, yesterday saying, “In some provinces, we are facing an upward trend, with the highest increase in Khuzestan province … We predict that we will have an upward trend in this province in the next few days.”

“People of Khuzestan and some other southern provinces are facing many problems caused by the outbreak of the Coronavirus … If the situation continues like this, it will be difficult to control and deal with Coronavirus in these provinces,” said today, the regime parliament deputy of Izeh and Bagh-e Malek to Tasnim News Agency.

The spokesperson for Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences told the IRGC affiliated news agency, Fars, “In Khuzestan, the total number of people infected with Coronavirus increased to 10,419 … The number of deaths due to Coronavirus reached 452.”

“Negligence towards Coronavirus will lead to difficult days,” said the secretary of the National Coronavirus task force in Bushehr province speaking to IRGC-related Javan website, yesterday.

The President of Zanjan University of Medical Sciences told Mehr news agency, yesterday, “of the growing trend of Coronavirus infection in Zanjan province.”

The President of Ilam University of Medical Sciences talking to Mehr news agency today, also stated: “Positive cases have increased in the province.”

According to Fars news agency yesterday, the head of the public relations office of the city’s Medical Sciences University in Kermanshah spoke of “117 new cases of infection and registering five more deaths in the past 24 hours. However, the Tasnim news agency wrote the same day, “The number of infected people in Kermanshah has increased to three digits in the past two days.”

The same news agency today wrote about “Unprecedented increase in the number of those infected in the south of Kerman Province and the city of Jiroft” and added, “The Health Ministry spokesman had declared the situation in this region is critical… The figures for the recent days is two or three times higher than previous figures.”

Meanwhile, the official news agency, IRNA, wrote today, “The difficult economic conditions caused us to relax social distancing and under the rubric of smart social distancing, which created a new environment for the spread of the pandemic. We do not have a specific treatment and standard to deal with those infected. The medical personnel are exhausted and extremely fatigued because of the heavy pressure of their work in recent months.”

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), commenting on Rouhani’s blaming of the defenseless and helpless people for the spread of the virus, said: Insolence and projecting blame on others will go on ceaselessly until the regime is overthrown and is a well-known pattern of the anti-human mullahs who are the main culprits for death and destruction in occupied Iran.
