In a distressing series of events, the Iranian regime under Khamenei’s rule carried out the execution of 17 prisoners within a mere five-day period, from June 10 to June 14. These executions include the hanging of Hassanali Hassanpour in Gachsaran and Milad Ghobadi in Yasuj on Wednesday, June 14, as well as the hanging of Hamid Dinpajouh, Hamed Ahmadi, and two others in Gohardasht Prison on June 13.
Furthermore, In addition to the six prisoners whose executions were announced in the June 13 statement by the NCRI, on Sunday, June 11, in Adelabad Shiraz Prison, two other prisoners named Alireza Shacheraghi and Taher Nouri were subjected to the same fate.
These actions underscore the regime’s intensified campaign of medieval torture and cruel treatment inflicted upon prisoners, particularly targeting the uprising prisoners. Reports have revealed that at least sixty detainees from the uprising are held in solitary confinement within Zahedan Central Prison, enduring severe and inhumane conditions. Stripped of basic human rights, these prisoners are deprived of fresh air, access to sanitation facilities, shopping privileges, visitations, and the ability to communicate with their loved ones. Their only respite is the limited use of sanitary facilities under the watchful eye of a guard, blindfolded and handcuffed.
The mental and physical torment imposed on these prisoners is relentless, as they are subjected to coerced confessions and forced participation in government propaganda campaigns. Disturbingly, six Sunni political prisoners, who were transferred from Gohardasht Prison to Zahedan Prison, are now held in the same cells.
On Sunday, June 11, in a display of protest against the harsh conditions and brutal torture their children endure, families of the prisoners at Salmas Prison gathered outside the facility. This small-scale prison, currently housing over 700 inmates, fails to provide even the most basic necessities, with many prisoners lacking access to blankets.
Moreover, the quality and quantity of prison food have drastically deteriorated. Through embezzlement by the authorities, the monthly food rations for prisoners have been significantly reduced. The lack of adequate medical care and essential hygiene materials further exacerbates the dire situation. Shockingly, prison guards place the financial burden of medical visits and treatment solely on the prisoners themselves.
