Iran: At Least 12 Executions on August 31 and 17 on August 27

NCRI logoThe number of executions in 1404 (since March 21,2025) has exceeded 700, and during the presidency of Pezeshkian, it has surpassed 1,670.

In fear of an eruption of popular anger and the overthrow of his crisis-ridden regime, Ali Khamenei is relentlessly and brutally intensifying the pace of executions and repression in Iran. Yesterday, Sunday, August 31, at least 12 prisoners, and on Wednesday, August 27, 17 prisoners were sent to the gallows by his executioners.

On August 31, Rahman Javan Chonqoralovikan, 33 years old; Morteza Zichi, 34 years old; and Javad Mali (Aali) in Urmia; Ali Yavari in Hamedan; Jassem Norouzi in Arak; Ali Mirzaqolikhani in Rasht; Akbar Abbaspour in Sanandaj; Hamed Barahouei (Bajizehi Mingel), 25 years old, from the Baluch compatriots, and another prisoner in Zahedan; Armin Reihani, 27 years old, and Esmail Delavari Shouli, 26 years old, in Shiraz; and Soleiman Koushki in Ghezel Hesar were executed.

On August 27, Majid Abedi, 35 years old, in Semnan; Samad Seyed Hosseini and Sajad Qolizadeh in Yasuj; Arman Aghcheli in Gorgan; Hassan Saffariyan, 35 years old, and Milad Mohammadsalehi, 32 years old, and a female prisoner named Mitra Yasini in Shiraz; Hesam Dadkhah in Isfahan; and Mashaallah Nikoufal and Faramarz Shahbazi in Ghezel Hesar were executed. The names of seven other victims were mentioned in the previous statement.

On Saturday, August 30, Hamid Kakavand was executed in Ghezel Hesar. On Thursday, August 28, Mehdi Raoufi in Ghezel Hesar and a 60-year-old female prisoner named Banoo Moghaddam in Abhar were hanged.

Thus, since the beginning of Persian calendar year 1404 (March 21, 2025), the number of executions has exceeded 700, and since the start of Pezeshkian’s presidency, it has surpassed 1,670.
