22 Executions, Including 2 Women, on Wednesday
In an attempt to counter an impending social explosion and rebellious youth, Khamenei has resorted to increased savagery, executing one prisoner every 3.5 hours.
On Sunday, September 21, the executioners of Khamenei hanged at least six prisoners: Hossein Mousavi, 31, in Gachsaran; Vahid Ebrahimi in Isfahan; Kazem Jamshidi in Khorramabad; Rasoul Yari in Arak; Abdolaziz Qaljayi, 35, in Zahedan; and Saeed Ghobadi in Kermanshah.
On Saturday, September 20, Ali Mansour Vafaei in Tabriz and another prisoner were executed for killing a brigadier general of the regime’s repressive State Security Force in Malayer. On Thursday, September 18, Javad Afagh, 36, was executed in Mashhad. Two of his brothers had also been executed in Mashhad in March 2025.
On Wednesday, September 17, 22 prisoners, including two women, were hanged: Peyman Khani and a female prisoner in Sabzevar; Fazel Sohrabi in Nishapur; Mehrdad Tajik in Shiraz; Mohammad Farshad Bourakzehi (Barkzayi) in Gonabad; Amir Mirabadi in Zanjan; Abdolsalam Mirpanjshir, 30, and Ghafoor Behboudi, 37, in Taybad; Morteza Shirkhani and Zahra Fotouhi in Tabriz; Abdolqader Sargolzaei, 36, Nadim Ashrafzadeh, 38, and Abbas Yazdani in Isfahan; Misagh Rezaei, 25, and Mohsen Yeganeh in Semnan; Omid Hosseinzadeh, Mansour Avakhtizadeh, and another prisoner in Ghezel Hesar. The names of four other prisoners executed on this day were announced in a previous statement.
On Tuesday, September 16, eleven prisoners were sent to the gallows: Nemat Khodabakhsh and Gholamreza Hariri in Sari; Hojjat Goudarzi in Aligudarz; Ahmad Hashami, 28, in Miandoab; Nour Mohammad Chegali and another prisoner in Isfahan. The names of five other prisoners executed that day were announced in a previous statement.
Including the eight prisoners executed on Monday, September 15, the regime’s execution toll over the week of September 15–21 has reached 50.
Confronted with the explosive wrath of a discontented populace, beset by mounting domestic and international crises, and seeking to suppress the rising youth and Resistance Units, Khamenei has resorted to escalating savagery. Over the past week, a prisoner has been executed every three and a half hours.
