- Mohammad Javad Vafaei is in danger of execution
- Call to save his life and those of other political prisoners on death row
On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the regime’s Supreme Court upheld the death sentence of political prisoner and supporter of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), Mohammad Javad Vafaei-Sani. Mohammad Javad’s lawyer wrote on the social network X: “The death sentence of Mr. Mohammad Javad Vafaei-Sani … despite numerous legal flaws, was affirmed by Branch 9 of the Supreme Court.”
Thirty-year-old Javad Vafaei, a boxing champion and coach at sports clubs in Mashhad, was arrested in March 2020 in Mashhad and subjected to the most severe physical and psychological torture and pressure. On September 18, 2024, he was sentenced to death for the third time by two criminal judges named Saadi Makan and Yazdan-Khah.
The Iranian Resistance calls for the immediate intervention of the United Nations and relevant international bodies to save the life of Mohammad Javad Vafaei and other political prisoners sentenced to death.
