Families of Death-Row Prisoners Protest Outside the Regime’s Parliament
While Iran’s regime has set a new record of cruelty and brutality by executing 284 prisoners in the Persian month of Mehr (Sept 23-Oct 22), it has begun the month of Aban with a continued wave of executions. By the morning of October 27, the executions of 12 prisoners on October 25 and 10 prisoners on October 26 have been recorded. The total number of victims is higher and will be announced after verification.
On Sunday, October 26, Mousa Mohammadi, Mohammadreza Nazari, a prisoner named Dehghani, and another prisoner in Shiraz; Ali Saedpanah in Esfarayen; Mehrdad Moradi in Arak; Manouchehr Mahaki in Aligudarz; 28-year-old Mohammad Omar Zarkouhi in Zahedan; and Sohbat Fathi and another prisoner in Karaj Central Prison were hanged.
On Saturday, October 25, the regime’s henchmen executed Asghar Manafi and Mohsen Davarpanah in Hamedan; 29-year-old Bahman Hosseinani and Mohammad Osmani in Dezful; Reza Sabzi in Shahroud; Narges Ahmadi in Qom; Yarhossein Bahri in Khorramabad; and Farhad Hatami, Siamak Khadem, Hamed Hanifeh, Amir Nazari, and 34-year-old Meysam Bagheri in Rasht.
The intensification of executions has not extinguished the flame of protest; instead, the cry of “No to execution” is growing louder every day from prisons to the streets. On October 26, a number of families of death-row prisoners from Ghezel Hesar Prison gathered in front of the clerical regime’s parliament, defending their loved ones with the slogan “No to execution.” Repressive forces attacked the families in an attempt to disperse them. The families emphasized that they will continue their protests.
