Khuzistan governor says more executions on the way

Khuzistan governor says more executions on the wayNCRI – The Governor in the southwestern Province of Khuzistan promised more "trials" and execution of prisoners on the charge of participating in the bombings that rocked the Province, the official state-run news agency, IRNA, reported.

These comments forebode of a new wave of executions in Khuzistan. Through these heinous crimes, the mullahs are trying to confront the increasing popular discontent and the Province’s explosive state.

The deprived people of Khuzistan have staged widespread protests and anti-government demonstrations in the past two years because of extreme poverty and pervasive discrimination against the Arabic-speaking population.

On many occasions, the special anti-riot forces and the Revolutionary Guards were dispatched to Khuzistan and particularly Ahwaz from neighboring provinces to crush the uprisings. A large number of young people were arrested in the course of the protests. The regime’s henchmen tortured and murdered a number of the detainees and dumped their bodies outside their homes.

The Iranian Resistance condemns the suppression of the people of Khuzistan and urges international human rights organizations to take urgent steps to prevent the execution of the innocent people of Khuzistan Province.
