Reshuffling of prison wardens: a step further in suppression

Reshuffling of prison wardens: a step further in suppressionNCRI – The prison wardens of the notorious Evin, Karaj, Fardis, and East Azerbaijan prisons have undergone a reshuffle, the state-run news agency ISNA reported on July 19.

Kamal Zare, presently the warden of Karaj Prison, has been assigned to head Evin Prison, Ahad Ahad-Zadeh, presently the warden of Fardis Prison, has been assigned to head the penitentiary in Karaj, and Mehdi Karbalaii, the deputy warden of Evin Prison, is to head Fardis Prison. Abbas Khadimi-Zadeh, who until now was the warden in Evin Prison, will move to East Azerbaijan Prison.

Reshuffling prison wardens is a desperate attempt by the mullahs’ regime to help quell the rising social discontent.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all human rights organizations to condemn the increasing suppression by the mullahs’ regime in Iran.
