Iran Protest-No. 212

On Saturday, December 31, on the 107th day of the uprising, widespread protests in Semirom that started in the morning, continued through the evening with chants of “Death to Khamenei.” According to the state-run news agency ISNA, on December 31, the Public Relations of the IRGC in Isfahan Province announced, “following the riots tonight in Semirom, one of the security defenders was killed by armed anti-revolutionary criminals.”

In various parts of Tehran, including Southern Shahin, Tehran Pars, and Punak, cries of “Death to Khamenei” and “Death to the dictator” echoed from the buildings.

The youths in Sanandaj, in solidarity with the demonstrations in Javanrud, staged nightly demonstrations and blocked the route for the suppressive forces by burning tires.

In Isfahan, the youth held a nightly demonstration chanting “Death to Khamenei” and “Death to the regime in its entirety.” The defiant youths in Qom set fire to a banner depicting the image of Qassem Soleimani, the defunct Commander of the Quds force, on the anniversary of his death. In Ahvaz, protesters hung a banner reading “Death to the dictator.”
