Retirees roar with slogans: ‘Our enemy is right here, they lie that it’s America,’ and ‘Neither the parliament nor the government cares about the people’
On Sunday and Monday, November 30 and December 1, 2025, various cities in Iran once again witnessed widespread demonstrations and strikes by retirees, workers, defrauded investors, and other exasperated segments of the population.
On Monday, December 1, telecommunication retirees held coordinated rallies in Tehran and many other cities, including Kermanshah, Sanandaj, Rasht, Hamedan, Marivan, Shiraz, Ahvaz, Zanjan, Isfahan, Khorramabad, Bijar, and Kerman. They protested the plunder of their pensions by government-affiliated predatory institutions, such as the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO) and the IRGC Cooperative Foundation. On the same day, the strike by Madkoush Steel workers in Bandar Abbas continued for the second day, and the strike by workers of the Middle East Sugar Factory in Shush entered its third consecutive day. Additionally, National Housing project applicants in Zanjan and poultry farmers in Ilam held protest gatherings.
On Sunday, November 30, Social Security retirees also took to the streets in Kermanshah, Shush, and Ahvaz, targeting the pillars of the regime with slogans such as, ‘Our enemy is right here, they lie that it’s America,’ ‘Neither the parliament nor the government cares about the people,’ ‘Our rights will only be won on the streets,’ ‘We will fight, we will die, we will take back our rights,’ and ‘Let go of Lebanon, think about us.’ Retired teachers also marched in Tehran from the Plan and Budget Organization to the parliament, and steel retirees in Isfahan rallied with the slogan, ‘Shout, shout on all this injustice!’
Also on Sunday, shipbuilding workers (ISOICO) in Bandar Abbas, school modernization contractors in Ahvaz, and laid-off workers from closed factories in Ilam held protest rallies. Victims of the King Money fund in Tehran protested in front of the regime’s Supreme Court, and defrauded National Housing applicants in Yazd protested to reclaim their looted property.
These protests followed clashes between rebellious youth and suppressive forces in the city of Qir (Fars province) on Friday, and strikes and protests by workers and boat owners in the cities of Mahshahr, Qeshm, and Abadan on Saturday, showcasing the determination of the Iranian people to reclaim their rights from the clerical regime.
