Mrs. Rajavi: The flames that engulfed Ahmad, though heartbreaking, are a warning to a regime that cannot escape the people’s wrath and will advance to burn down Khamenei’s office.

On the evening of Thursday, November 6, 2025, a number of people in Ahvaz gathered in protest in front of Taleghani Hospital, where Ahmad Baldi is hospitalized, to decry the anti-human mullahs’ regime and the criminal behavior of the city’s municipality. Ahmad, a 20-year-old student, set himself on fire to protest the destruction of his father’s stall in Zeitoun Park, Ahvaz, by the State Security Force (SSF) and municipal agents. He is now hospitalized at Taleghani Hospital with over 70% burns, and his condition is critical.

The protesters demanded the immediate dismissal of Amini, the mayor of Ahvaz, and his deputies, as well as the trial of all those responsible for Ahmad’s self-immolation. Since last night, security forces, fearing further protests, have brought the area around the hospital under tight control.

Municipal agents from District 3 of Ahvaz, accompanied by the SSF, went to the location to demolish the stall belonging to Mojahed Baldi, an Arab compatriot, without prior notice. As he was not present, they began to demolish the stall. His wife and son, Ahmad, staged a sit-in inside the stall to prevent its destruction. The deputy mayor violently threw Baldi’s wife out. In protest, Ahmad doused himself with gasoline and set himself on fire. According to witnesses, the agents not only took no action to save him but watched with mockery and indifference.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, wishing a speedy recovery for Ahmad Baldi, a son of the people of Ahvaz, said the flames that engulfed him, though they broke all our hearts, are the very flames that will burn the mullahs’ regime to its roots. She added that while the ruling mullahs and the IRGC commanders have been plundering the people’s wealth for years, and their corrupt offspring lead ultra-luxurious lives at home and abroad, and while this regime has wasted and continues to waste thousands of billions of dollars on anti-patriotic nuclear and missile projects and warmongering, they do not even spare the stalls of the most deprived segments of the population. Ahmad’s fire of protest is a warning to a regime that has no escape from the people’s wrath and will advance until it burns down Khamenei’s office. The day of reckoning for the executioners is near.
