In Tehran, the regime attempted to prevent demonstrations from forming and spreading by deploying large numbers of special units to the Bazaar area, but they were met with public resistance. Many shops and malls closed as merchants joined the people on the streets, chanting, ‘Honorable merchant, support, support.’ Simultaneously, on Monday morning, merchants in Karaj, Genaveh, Zarqan in Fars province, and many other cities went on strike and closed their shops.
For the second consecutive day, students at Shiraz University held rallies and demonstrations, chanting, ‘Honorable student, support, support.’
In Hafshejan, angry residents set fire to the workplace of the agent responsible for killing Soroush Soleimani, a 15-year-old teenager killed by direct fire from regime mercenaries on Saturday, January 3. In Abadeh Qashqai, the atmosphere is combative, with several people seen carrying weapons on the streets.
On Sunday night, January 4, rebellious youths in Isfahan confronted the forces of the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, after they attacked, beat, and opened fire on people. Following two hours of intense clashes near the Si-o-Se-Pol bridge, the State Security Force (SSF) surrendered and was disarmed.
That same night in Hamedan, rebellious youths confronted the suppressive SSF forces who had attacked popular demonstrations. One agent was disarmed, and the rest fled.
On Sunday night in the Naziabad district of Tehran, rebellious youths seized a stun gun from an SSF agent who was attacking people.
On Saturday night, January 3, in Azna, rebellious youths set fire to two special unit vehicles and attacked the city’s police station, which had participated in the killing of local residents.
On Sunday night, January 4, on Naser Khosrow Street in Mashhad, rebellious youths attacked the SSF and freed a number of protesters who had been arrested.
On Sunday night, rebellious youths in Ilam, Fardis Karaj, Radman Karaj, Gachsaran, Ahmad Abad in Mashhad, Shahr-e Qods, Kazerun, and on Valiasr Street in Tehran blocked streets by lighting fires to cut off entry routes for the regime’s oppressive forces.
