From Saturday to Monday, October 10-12, 2026, various sectors of the Iranian public, including retirees, workers, nurses, farmers, and students in Tehran and dozens of other cities, held protests and strikes. These actions were in response to the destructive policies, rampant inflation, skyrocketing prices, and systematic looting by the religious fascism ruling Iran.

On Monday, October 12, laid-off workers from the Khavar Spinning factory in Rasht held a protest rally. Meanwhile, students at Bu-Ali Sina University in Hamedan went on strike to protest the catastrophic quality of the university food. The previous night, 53 female students in the dormitory suffered food poisoning and were hospitalized.

On Sunday, October 11, retirees from the Telecommunications Company, the Social Security Organization, the education sector, and the steel and iron industries held extensive rallies in Tehran, Isfahan, Shush, Rasht, Ahvaz, Tabriz, Bijar, Kermanshah, Hamedan, Khorramabad, Sanandaj, and Ilam. Telecommunications retirees directed their protests against the plundering leaders of the company, namely the “Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO)” and the “IRGC Cooperative Foundation.”

On the same day in Tehran, retirees took to the streets with slogans such as “Imprisoned workers and teachers must be freed,” “We will stand until the death penalty is abolished,” “Inflation and high prices are like firing bullets at the people,” and “High prices and embezzlement: This is your economy!” In Shush, protesting retirees chanted, “Only on the street can we obtain our rights,” and “We want neither war nor killing; we want lasting welfare.” In Ahvaz, the cry of “Where is the inflation control? Stop lying to the people!” resonated.

At the end of the Isfahan steel retirees’ gathering, several regime mercenaries confronted the protesters with slogans about the mandatory hijab and accused the retirees of being traitors. The retirees responded with the chant, “They used the hijab as a platform to make people miserable.”

Furthermore, laid-off workers of the “Pay-Pol Jonoub” company in Sirjan gathered in front of government centers, and nurses from Tabriz health centers protested in front of the regime’s governorate against poor living conditions and blatant discrimination.

In addition, farmers in Biarjomand, Shahrud, gathered in front of the electricity department to protest repeated power outages and the destruction of their crops.

On Saturday, October 10, the residents of Razjerd village in Qazvin held a protest to defend their agricultural lands against destruction and the seizure of natural resources. On the same day, a group of people whose assets were plundered by the Islamshahr Municipality housing cooperative gathered in front of the regime’s judiciary to protest the looting of their capital.
