NCRI – Two prisoners were hanged in Esfahan, the state-run daily Kayhan reported today. They were identified as Soleyman J. and Ahmad Kh.
The media in Iran reported about hanging of five other prisoners yesterday in the southern city of Kerman. They were named as Mehdi N., Hossein S., Feizollah, Nazar B., and Alam H.
Taking into account the latest hangings, the total number of executions in the past 13 days reaches 24 according to state media reports in Iran.
The clerical regime, on the brink of the International Workers’ Day, has heightened the number of executions and public hangings in various cities to enforce a reign of fear and terror in an attempt to prevent spread of public protests, particularly by the workers.
The Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights organizations, in particular the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and relevant UN special rapporteurs to condemn the rising number of executions and take urgent measures to stop the prevailing criminal trend.
