Iran: Twelve Acts of Resistance by Rebel Youth in Tehran and Nine Other Cities in Response to the Killing of Two Young Men by Khamenei’s Agents in Hamedan
In response to the killing of two young men by Khamenei’s agents through gunfire in the Tarik-Darreh area of Hamedan on July 1, rebel youth carried out twelve courageous acts of resistance in Tehran and nine other cities—Karaj, Dezful, Quchan, Rudbar, Khash, Dorud, Lordegan, Saravan, and Sarbaz—setting fire to centers of repression and symbols of the regime.
At dawn on Tuesday, July 1, as a result of gunfire by criminal Basij forces targeting a vehicle in the Tarik-Darreh area of Hamedan, two young men named Mehdi Abaei and Alireza Karbasi lost their lives, and another young man was severely injured. During their funeral procession on Thursday, July 3, a large number of Hamedan residents expressed their outrage and protest against the clerical regime, the Revolutionary Guards, and the Basij forces with chants such as “Death to the oppressor,” “I will kill the one who killed my brother,” and “Our enemy is right here, they lie when they say it’s America.”
In the operations conducted by the rebel youth, the following centers were set ablaze:
- Three Basij bases of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Tehran and Khash
- Two headquarters of the suppressive SSF (State Security Force) at Palestine Square in Quchan and in Kalisham, Rudbar
- One regime center of looting and repression in District 14 of Tehran
Additionally, government signs and banners bearing the detested images of Khomeini, Khamenei, Raisi, and Qassem Soleimani were set on fire in Karaj, Dezful, Dorud, Lordegan, Saravan, and Sarbaz.
