Protesters chant: ‘Imprisoned Protesters Must Be Freed,’ ‘We Will Fight, We Will Die, We Will Take Back Our Rights,’ ‘Neither Threats, Nor Prison, Nor Execution Can Stop Us’
On Saturday and Sunday, December 13 and 14, 2025, various cities across Iran witnessed widespread protests by different sectors of society against the clerical regime’s oppression and plunder. They expressed their anger and disgust at runaway inflation, poverty, corruption, and the incompetence of government officials.
Sunday, December 14, 2025:
- In Tehran, Kermanshah, Shush, Ahvaz, Rasht, and Isfahan, Social Security retirees held protest rallies, chanting: ‘Austerity and hardship are imposed on the nation,’ ‘Expensive bread, expensive medicine, the government is the enemy of life,’ ‘Imprisoned protesters must be freed,’ ‘We will fight, we will die, we will take back our rights,’ ‘We will not live under oppression, we will sacrifice our lives for freedom,’ ‘Neither threats, nor prison, nor execution can stop us,’ and ‘Our rights will only be achieved on the streets.’ One of their signs read: ‘The turban and crown on their heads – plunderers of oil and gold.’
- In Tehran, university students protested high prices and the authorities’ neglect of their welfare, while Ministry of Education job applicants gathered in front of the ministry.
- In Ahvaz, third-party oil workers and bakers held a protest rally in front of the Khuzestan governor’s office.
Saturday, December 13, 2025:
- Thousands of workers from the Pasargad Steel Complex in Kavar (Fars province) gathered in front of the factory to protest wage discrimination and poor livelihood conditions.
- In Kermanshah, municipal workers gathered in front of the city’s governor’s office to protest the non-payment of their salaries for the past four months.
- In Sanandaj, nurses held a protest rally in front of the Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences.
