On the eve of October 22, the anniversary of the introduction of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi as the President-elect of the Resistance for the period of transitioning sovereignty, Resistance Units carried out 23 activities in Tehran and 11 other cities. These cities included Ahvaz, Isfahan, Kermanshah, Mashhad, Karaj, Zahedan, Sanandaj, Semnan, Kashan, Andimeshk, and Yasuj, reaffirming their firm resolve to overthrow the clerical regime.
In Tehran, Resistance Units commemorated the day by holding placards and images of the Resistance’s President-elect with slogans such as, “Maryam Rajavi is the symbol of a free Iran of tomorrow” and “Our choice is Maryam Rajavi.” On the Ahvaz-Shushtar road, a banner was raised over a bridge that read, “The army of women and the oppressed will uproot this regime.” In Kermanshah, a banner was hung on a pedestrian bridge in Azadi Square with the slogan, “A future Iran with Maryam Rajavi.” In Isfahan, at the Si-o-Se-Pol bridge and Naqsh-e Jahan Square, slogans like “Happy October 22” and “Iran, Maryam” were installed. In Semnan, a part of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point plan for the future of Iran was highlighted: “Complete equality for women and men in political, social, cultural, and economic rights.”
In these activities, which were carried out under severe security conditions and intense surveillance, Resistance Units distributed, installed on walls and public places, or displayed in photo calls, slogans such as, “We can and we must,” “Democracy and freedom with Maryam Rajavi,” “The clerical regime can and must be overthrown,” “Iran, Maryam,” and “We will bring you to Tehran, Maryam, the radiant sun.”
