Resistance Units Mark 60th Anniversary of PMOI with 60 Anti-Repression Actions Across Iran

Resistance Units Commemorated the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran with 60 Anti-Repression Campaigns in Tehran and 19 Other Cities

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) on September 6, 1965, the Resistance Units carried out 60 acts of defiance in Tehran and 19 other cities, including Karaj, Mashhad, Isfahan, Shiraz, Ahvaz, Yazd, Zahedan, Saravan, Iranshahr, Sari, Qaemshahr, Kermanshah, Kerman, Hamedan, Chabahar, Qom, Qazvin, Behbahan, and Tabas. These courageous actions were carried out under the regime’s state of alert and amid the widespread presence of surveillance cameras, yet the Units acted with boldness and initiative.

In Tehran, large banners of the PMOI’s founders and the leaders of the Resistance, Mr. Massoud Rajavi and Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, were installed on bridges. In a coordinated plan, Resistance Units rode motorcycles through the city streets displaying images of the Resistance leaders and anti-regime slogans.

Slogans and messages filled the atmosphere of the city: “Sixty years of ‘we can and we must’,” “Sixty years of glorious perseverance,” “Sixty years of boundless sacrifice,” “The People’s Mojahedin means 60 years of neither Shah nor mullahs,” and “Maryam Rajavi, the hope of Iran for a better tomorrow.” In addition, in Keshavarz Boulevard, Zafaraniyeh, Ferdowsi Square, Tehran University, Milad Tower, and Enghelab Square, flowers were laid and leaflets were posted in memory of the founders and martyrs of the path of freedom. Group actions with leaflets and slogans such as “Sixty years of resistance,” “Sixty years of honor,” and “Death to the dictator” were carried out in various parts of Tehran.

In Mashhad, Resistance Units placed flowers near the Imam Reza shrine and displayed banners bearing the image of Maryam Rajavi and the slogan “Maryam Rajavi, the embodiment of solidarity in the struggle for freedom.” In Isfahan, a banner reading “Maryam Rajavi, the shining symbol of Iran for a better tomorrow” was hung from a bridge, and actions with the slogan “Sixty years of sacrifice and steadfastness” were organized. In Shiraz, the Hafezieh witnessed flower-laying and the slogan “Sixty years of fidelity to the pledge of boundless sacrifice in Iran’s history.” In Ahvaz, flowers were laid on the White Bridge with the inscription “Sixty years of honesty and sacrifice.” In Yazd, groups of 20 people held actions with the slogans “Death to Khamenei,” “Present, present, present,” and “Freedom, freedom, freedom.” In Zahedan and Saravan, numerous actions took place with leaflets declaring “Our choice is Maryam Rajavi,” “Sixty years of resistance and steadfastness,” and “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader.”
