Violent Assault and Inhumane Treatment of Two Teenage Girls by Morality Police
Call for International Investigation, Accountability, and Sanctions Against Regime Leadership
Recently released footage depicting the violent assault and inhumane treatment of two teenage girls, one aged 14, by Iran’s morality police and SSF (State Security Force) agents for alleged hijab violations has shocked the conscience of the international community.
According to the mother of one victim, physical evidence of the assault remains visible over six weeks after the incident. The egregious nature of this event has prompted even the regime’s SSF to state: “Such behavior by SSF agents falls outside our operational standards. The case is currently under investigation by FARAJA (the regime’s State Security Force) judicial and inspection system.”
This incident underscores the urgent need for international scrutiny, accountability measures for regime leadership, and appropriate sanctions in response to the brutal and inhumane treatment of women in Iran.
The Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran hereby calls upon the UN Human Rights Council, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Special Rapporteur on Iran, and the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women to strictly condemn the oppressive actions of the religious fascism ruling Iran.
The NCRI Women’s Committee also demands the immediate expulsion of regime representatives from relevant international bodies. The continued presence of representatives from such a regime in these forums undermines the principles of human rights, women’s rights, and the United Nations itself.
