Agents of Iranian regime kill secretary-general of Iraq’s National Justice and Progress Party

NCRI – According to statements by Iraqi journalists, hours after dawn on Thursday, terrorists with ties to the Iranian regime wearing Iraqi police uniforms and traveling in Monica vehicles attacked the offices of the al-Shaabiya television channel which is owned by the National Justice and Progress Party (NJPP) in the district of Zayouna in Baghdad.

Terrorists working for the mullahs’ regime first of all blockaded the routes to the building and killed two of its security guards upon entering the television channel’s premises. The criminal terrorists armed with firearms with mounted silencers then proceeded to kill Mr. Abdul-Rahim Nasrallah and eight of his co-workers while they were asleep.

Mr. Nasrallah had in numerous interviews and statements on behalf of the National Justice and Progress Party warned of the threats of Iranian meddling in Iraq. He had, thus, drawn the wrath of the mullahs’ regime.

The television channel al-Jazeera reported in this regard, “A number of Iraqi journalists have said that they will immediately go on strike in protest to the barbaric crime. They said that if the Iraqi government is unable to provide protection for Iraqi writers and journalists they will call on all media organizations across the world and Western nations to protect Iraqi journalists.”

During summer, Mr. Nasrallah had announced his support for the presence of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran in Iraq. “The only side seeking the expulsion of the PMOI from Iraq is the Iranian regime. It wants to separate Iraq from the international community, as though there are no people in Iraq. Those who disrespect their guests are not part of Iraq. Those who close the path on their guests and deprive them of food and water and those who kidnap their guests are not part of Iraq. This is because such actions are criminal and shameful,” he said.

The Iranian Resistance condoles the people of Iraq, in particular freedom-seeking intellectuals, democratic and national forces and honorable journalists on the killing of Mr. Nasrallah. It calls on the international community, human rights organizations, journalist organizations and Iraqi political parties to condemn this brutal crime. It reiterates the need to set up an international committee to investigate the terrorist crimes of the mullahs’ regime on Iraqi soil, in particular the murders of prominent political, military and religious personalities by agents of the Iranian regime. It calls on the international community to work rapidly to stop the Iranian regime’s unbridled meddling and disband the regime’s vast criminal and murderous apparatus from Iraq.
