NCRI – At 1:05 pm local time today November 12, 2011, serial and massive explosions in the western suburbs of Tehran rocked large parts of the city.
This location is a classified centre of clerical regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and only its employees can enter it. The explosion destroyed most of the garrison, and has left many casualties. The IRGC first said that 40 people were killed. A large number of ambulances are still transporting the injured to hospitals.
Fires in different parts of the garrison continued until sunset today and firefighters are trying to contain fire caused by this explosion.
A Disaster Emergency Committee has been established by the regime to control the situation and sniffer dogs were dispatched to the location of the explosion.
The cause of serial explosions is not yet clear and the IRGC commanders try to pretend it was an accident during regular transportation of ammunition from the warehouses.
