Renewed contact from the “Interrogation Journalist” and “Friend of the Iranian Regime” under the title of “Freelance Journalist” / This time in the name of an Austrian monthly magazine!
Statement No. 3
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) representative office in Germany reported in its statements on August 14 and 15, 2024, about the familiar game of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence against the Iranian resistance through a “friendly journalist.”
A person named Andreas Holzapfel, who claims to be a “freelance journalist,” sent a letter to the website of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the NCRI, stating that he was writing an article for the daily newspaper Die Tageszeitung (taz). He presented a series of accusations against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in the form of a questionnaire, setting a deadline of August 23 for a response.
However, we were later informed by Die Tageszeitung:
“there is currently no cooperation between taz and Mr. Andreas Holzapfel, and therefore no further publications in taz are being planned.”
Now, the same person, whose article was not published in Die Tageszeitung, has written that what he intended will be “published in the Austrian magazine DATUM… Therefore, you still have time until the end of next week (September 20) to answer my questions!”
This is happening while the “Revolutionary Court” of the mullahs in Tehran on September 10 issued a verdict to confiscate the assets of 104 leaders and officials of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, along with the accusation of “Baghi” (rebellion), whose penalty is definitively execution. Yesterday, the mullahs’ judiciary raised the same charge against six detained supporters of the PMOI. It seems that the executioners in Tehran are urgently relying on defamation and smear campaigns against the PMOI in Western media to justify torture and executions.
The NCRI’s Foreign Affairs Committee has responded to the defamations dictated by the “Interrogation Journalist,” originally intended for Die Tageszeitung, in a 10-page letter, along with 17 attached documents, sent to the editorial board of the Austrian monthly magazine DATUM.
Assadollah Assadi, an agent of Department 312 of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS), was a diplomat terrorist who planned the bomb attack on the Iranian resistance gathering on June 30, 2018, and was placed on the European Union’s terror list. He operated under the cover of the Third Counselor at the Iranian embassy in Austria. Another agent of the Iranian regime, named Alireza Naghashzadeh, who held an Austrian passport, gathered information for a planned bombing at a PMOI gathering in Tirana, according to Albanian police investigations, disguised as a “former member.”
The Iranian resistance is drawing the attention of the relevant Austrian authorities to the preparations and misuse for terrorist purposes by the mullahs’ agents.
