Salim al-Jabouri described Saturday’s attack which left two dead and at least 50 injured as a ‘terrorist operation’ because it had targeted defenseless and innocent people.
He said in a statement on June 18: “The the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Iraq must be protected and transferred to Ashraf. Camp Liberty is no longer safe for them and it has been struck by rockets many times. The security forces positioned in the camp must implement the security measures.
“We condemn this terrorist attack. The UN must take every necessary step for the urgent relocation of the residents to Camp Ashraf and to find a solution for their safety. The attacks carried out against them are an abuse to the agreements signed related to the PMOI in Iraq because the camp that they have been transferred to is no longer safe for them.”
