NCRI – A senior official of the al-Iraqiya list, the bloc that won March’s parliamentary elections in Iraq, has said that the residents of Camp Ashraf are protected under international law and pressures against them are only indicative of the Iranian regime’s meddling in Baghdad.
Mr. Zafer al-Ani said that the mullahs are terrified of the people in Camp Ashraf, who are members of the main opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), because their regime is weak and unstable.
According to the daily “Baghdad” on Sunday, Mr. al-Ani added, “We have not heard of any other group that has deeper roots in Iranian society than the PMOI does, which explains the pressures on Camp Ashraf.”
