The Yemeni Scholars Association demanded the camp’s 3,100 Iranian refugees are protected and well treated, and called on the Islamic world to take all necessary measures to achieve this.
A three-point list issued by the association said the scholars firstly condemn the ‘unjust measures’ against the PMOI members in Iraq opposing the Iranian regime.
Secondly, they endorsed the statement by the International Union of Muslim Scholars declaring unjust measures by the GoI against these Iranian dissidents as unlawful, adding: “The GoI must provide protection for these refugees and provide them the necessities for having a free life.”
And it said thirdly: “The Yemeni Scholars Association calls on all Islamic organizations particularly the Islamic Cooperation Council to act based on their religious responsibility to take necessary measures to eliminate these cruelty and limitations imposed on the Iranian opposition in Iraq.”
