NCRI – The State Security Forces (Police) in Tehran raided a New Year’s party, tearing down Christmas trees and decorations and arresting a group of residents.
The forces violently attacked a house in Tehran’s Ajodanieh district at 1:00 am on Thursday. They harassed the people attending the gathering and arrested a number of them.
The Iranian police regularly raided family parties and gatherings, particularly during Christmas, and warns people against reporting such incidents.
This year, during the Christmas period, the Iranian regime stepped up its suppression of Christians in Iran by raiding house churches and arresting Christians.
The raids are politically motivated as the Iranian regime intends to raise fear and intimidation in society to prevent any public expression of dissent.
The clerical regime in Iran refused to halt its cycle of atrocities and executions even during Christmas. The regime henchmen hanged at least seven prisoners in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz at dawn on Christmas day.
Nine Christians were arrested in a house church in Iran on Christmas day and they were transferred to an unknown location. Members of the Basij paramilitary force and armed plainclothes agents raided the house in the city of Roudehen in Tehran province, according to a report.
An Assyrian church leader and two colleagues were arrested by the Iranian regime’s State Security Forces in Tehran on December 26, another report said.
