Iranian regime official defends amputation sentences as harmless

NCRI – A member of the Iranian regime’s Assembly of Experts defended the inhumane punishment of amputations, which is systematically carried out by the clerical regime.

According to the state-run ILNA on Wednesday, Haeri Shirazi said, “When offenders are imprisoned, the bonds of families are broken because, for example, a person that has committed theft and imprisoned for it, would later find his family in the midst of corruption.”

Referring to the regime’s medieval punishments as “Islamic laws,” Shirazi added, “But if Islamic laws like hand amputation are implemented, it would not lead to negative outcomes.”
