NCRI – Two men were hanged in Iran today according to local media reports. The state-run news agency Fars reported that a man identified as Mohammad Hosseinzadeh was hanged in public in the holly city of Qom, central Iran.
The second man who was identified as Javad Z. was hanged in Mashhad Prison in the provincial capital of Khorassan, northeastern Iran. He was hanged in front of other prisoners.
The recent surge of public and secret executions in Iran follows widespread protests and uprisings across the country. The total numbers of executions based on media reports in Iran add up to 240 since January this year.
