NCRI – Iranian authorities flogged 54 young boys and girls for attending a celebration in the northern province of Mazandaran, a state-run daily reported.
The youth were arrested by the "anti-vice police" in a park on the suburbs of Babol as they were celebrating according to a report by state daily IRAN on Thursday.
The report said that all 54 were flogged inside the offices of the Ministry of Justice in Babol.
Co-ed parties are banned in Iran. Thousands of teenage boys and girls were arrested last year for taking part in similar celebrations. Some were flogged in public.
