Iran: Mobile networks down and bandwidth cut ahead of June election

NCRI- Mobile networks in Iran are suffering widespread failures as the regime tries to stifle the flow of information ahead of the June presidential election.

Despite denials by the mobile telecommunications company that networks are normal, a science and technology official said: “If restrictions on access to cyberspace continue, many information technology companies will close down.

“Restriction on access to cyberspace will cause economic problems for users and companies active in this field.”

The mobile network failures come after reports that the Iranian regime has also drastically slowed down Internet speeds over the past week, with users reporting difficulties accessing email.
