NCRI – The Chairman of the Guardian Council Ahmad Jannati, on the eve of the Hassan Rouhani’s inauguration, remarked about the make-up of Rouhani’s future government. He said: “One of the worries about the future government is its flexibility toward the United States and that the Americans could use this (against the Iranian regime) as pressure.”
Jannati said the goal of the U.S. government in imposing new sanctions against the regime is to “curb the Revolutionary Guards” in order to “bring about the overthrow of the regime, the revolution and Islam.”
The head of the Guardian Council added that the other U.S. goal is to quash the power of the regime’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, because, he claimed, that Khamenei “stands against the United States and plays a role in Syria and Iraq and elsewhere.”
Jannati added that the Americans want to “break the power of our leadership.”
In recent days, Jannati, who is also the chairman of the Assembly of Experts of the regime, has said that Khamenei’s most active preoccupation is a concern about being overthrown along with the regime.
