Muqtada al-Sadr: Nouri al-Maliki is waging sectarian war in Iraq

NCRI – Muqtada al-Sadr has accused prime minister Nouri al-Maliki of waging a sectarian war and urged him to end the oppression of minorities.

He also called for those who are manipulating the government intelligence and security services to be sacked and held accountable, al-Taqeer TV reported on Tuesday.

The co-ordinating committees of the al-Anbar protesters also supported a call by Sadr for the government to withdraw its Asaeb Ahle-Haq paramilitary forces from the streets of Baghdad within 24 hours.

In a press release, the political spokesperson of the Ramadi’s protesters camp, Dr Abdulrazaq al-Shemri, accused these paramilitaries of engaging in criminal acts in Baghdad and demanded other religious and tribal leaders in the south to support Sadr’s demands.
