NCRI – While defending his proposed ministers, Hassan Rouhani, the mullahs’ new President, described calling the eleventh government as a “security cabinet” a privilege.
Introducing and defending Hamid Chitchian as Minister of Energy, Rouhani said, “We are proud of those who have been in the holy defense and IRGC to defend the country. Of course, those who say that the cabinet is or was a security cabinet, I tell them that having a security sense is a plus and we are all proud of it.“
Ruhollah Hosseinian, A member of Parliament and a security veteran of the regime, had called Rouhani’s cabinet a security cabinet, and another MP referred to the four former Ministers of Intelligence and asked, “Is Rouhani not a Colonel?”
Moreover, while supporting his other proposed Minister of Justice, Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi, Rouhani said, “We are envisioning more tasks for him in this cabinet.” Pour-Mohammadi is a regime official responsible for the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988.
State-run Fars News Agency quoted Hassan Firouz-Abadi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces on August 7, as saying, “Today, a President has come to serve who loves Imam (Khomeini) and a is a follower of Khamenei.”
