Eighteenth Day of the Uprising for Regime Change

The Iranian people’s nationwide uprising, which erupted on November 15 to over the gasoline price-hike, quickly spread to Tehran and more than 187 cities across Iran. The uprising continued on Monday, December 2, for the 18th consecutive day in Iran.
According to the network affiliated with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), also known as the Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK, inside the country, the Iranian regime has reportedly killed more than 600 people during the uprising so far, wounded more than 4,000 and arrested more than 12,000. Besides, the regime is still maintaining the internet blackout in many areas.
The primary demand of the demonstrators is to overthrow the religious dictatorship. In their slogans, the protesters are targeting the regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani and the repressive forces, including the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), as the source of corruption and looting in Iran and the export of terrorism and warfare abroad.

Members of the Iranian Resistance “Resistance Units” and supporters of the opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) are escalating their measures during November and December of this year. Many streets and alleys across the country are becoming scenes of protests and confrontations against the mullahs’ regime, especially with Resistance Units members spreading the word about and messages of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and opposition President Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

The network affiliated directly to the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) inside the country confirms at least 600 people are accounted for as killed by regime authorities, along with over 4,000 people injured. Reports also indicate at least 12,000 protesters were arrested. The final statistics could, unfortunately, be far higher.
As protests continue in Iran, international condemnation of the Iranian regime’s crackdown on the protesters also continue. The Friends of a Free Iran (FoFI), an informal intergroup in the European Parliament which was formed in 2003 and enjoys the active support of many MEPs from various political groups, issue a statement in this regard calling “to end brutal crackdown on protesters in Iran with hundreds killed, thousands wounded and thousands more arrested”

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced that the number of protesters killed by Iran’s security forces and snipers in the course of the Iran uprising that started on November 15 in over 187 cities has surpassed 600.
