NCRI – University of Tehran students protested on Sunday against the clerical regime’s suppressive policies imposed on Iranian universities. The students, who gathered at 11:30 in the morning in front of the Technical Department of the university, continued their protest for hours.
The students, who chanted “Death to dictator,” urged unity and solidarity among all university students against the clerical regime and its policies. They also expressed outrage at the regime’s sham presidential elections.
In a separate act of protest, University of Tehran students also protested against the entire regime and its factions with chants of “No Khatami, No Mahmoud,” referring to the mullahs’ former president, Mohammad Khatami, and the incumbent Mahmoud Amadinejad.
In protest to Khatami’s offensive ethnic slurs against Azeri Iranians, students chanted, “Death to Khatami,” and “Khatami, shame on you.” They also viewed Khatami’s insult as part of what they described as the regime’s systematic apartheid against ethnic minorities. Expressing support for Azeri Iranians, they chanted “Long live Azerbaijan.”
On Sunday, part time teachers in the provinces of Lorestan and Charmahal Bakhtiari gathered in front of the regime’s parliament building to demand a final determination on the status of their employment. The angry protestors chanted, “What happened to justice?”
