Iran: The Villagers Protest and Clash With the Repressive Police Force

NCRI – On Sunday January 1st 2017, the villagers of Kordabad located in the vicinity of Taft City (in Yazd Province) protested against the mining activities in this region as well as the environmental pollutions. They closed the route to prevent further mining activities in this area according to news sources in Iran.

Following the protest, the police force raided the demonstrators in order to disperse them. The villagers clashed with police and the policemen beat the villagers and arrested some of them.
