
DPA said: "In a letter to the German government the ‘National Council of Resistance of Iran’ has given assurances that it would respect German law." Heribert Rech, the Interior Minister of Baden-Württembergs state from Christian Democratic Party of Germany was quoted as saying that he had instructed the police chief of the state to hold talks with the opposition organization.
DPA added that the NCRI is active worldwide and was founded in Paris in 1981. "The Council considers itself as the most important opposition group against the Iranian regime. Rech said that talks should aim to reduce tension," the German news agency wrote.
