
As Brussels prepares to host a major international rally on September 6, 2025, marking the 60th anniversary of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), political leaders, former heads of state, lawmakers, and human rights advocates from around the world are voicing strong support for the Iranian people’s fight for democracy. In dozens of messages, they condemned the regime’s surge in executions, called for blacklisting the IRGC, and endorsed NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan for a free, secular, and democratic Iran.
Struan Stevenson, former MEP and veteran NCRI advocate, condemned the regime’s wave of executions, including those of PMOI members Mehdi Hassani and Behrouz Ehsani, and backed Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan: “The Iranian people reject both monarchy and theocracy. The future of Iran belongs to its people.”
Paulo Casaca, former Member of the European Parliament from Portugal, praised the Iranian Resistance as “heroes who face lies and violence with unbreakable resolve” and called on the international community to stand united behind the fight for democracy and freedom in Iran.
Lars Rise, former Norwegian MP, hailed “PMOI’s six decades of defiance against tyranny” and urged Norwegians to join the global demand for democracy: “September 6 will show the world a massive demonstration of hope, dignity, and the will of the Iranian people to be free.”
Rosalía Arteaga, former president of Ecuador, warned of Iran’s worsening humanitarian crisis, including water shortages and economic collapse, and called on the international community to “support Madam Rajavi’s efforts to restore democracy and dignity in Iran.”
Ana Helena Chacón, former Vice President of Costa Rica, praised Iranian women leading the fight for freedom: “From Tehran’s streets to Evin Prison, women are the heartbeat of this movement. The Brussels rally amplifies their call: blacklist the IRGC and recognize a democratic Iran.”
Lord McCabe of the UK House of Lords warned that Iran’s regime exports terror across the region and pursues nuclear blackmail: “Governments must blacklist the IRGC and back Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan for a secular, free Iran.”

Henk de Haan, former Dutch MP and president of Dutch Friends of a Free Iran group (FOFI), voiced full support for the resistance: “The foundation of a free Iran rests on Madam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan, which protects democracy, women’s rights, and justice. I wish the people of Iran every success.”
Antonio Razzi, former Italian senator, urged Europeans to rally: “On September 6, I will join thousands in Brussels to support the Iranian people. It is time for a democratic Iran without executions and oppression.”

Matteo Ravera, mayor of Boves, Italy, expressed solidarity with Iranians seeking “freedom, democracy, and separation of religion from the state,” stressing that defending human dignity “is a duty for us all.”

Anna Mantini, head of the Equality Commission in Fossano, Italy, condemned Iran’s abuses: “I strongly support Madam Rajavi’s campaign to abolish the death penalty and build a democratic future for Iran.”

Malcolm Fowler, UK human rights lawyer, called the rally “a demand for justice” and urged governments to “recognize the IRGC as a terrorist organization and support Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan for equality, freedom, and democratic governance.”
Peter Murphy, human rights advocate, honored the resistance’s sacrifices: “Thousands of young Iranians are fulfilling the founders’ vision. The world must support them in stopping executions and creating a free, secular, democratic Iran.”
Mark Williams, former British MP, mourned recently executed political prisoners and said: “Masoud Pezeshkian’s government has carried out over 1,560 executions since July 2024. Europe must act now to demand freedom and human rights in Iran.”
David Jones, UK MP, condemned Tehran’s brutality: “Over 1,500 executions since 2020 expose the regime’s desperation. We must stop the killings, blacklist the IRGC, and support the Iranian people’s right to self-determination.”
Martin Patzelt, former German MP, said the regime “cannot reform itself” and urged European governments to “end appeasement and support the Iranian people’s organized resistance for real democratic change.”

Karl Wolfgang Holzapfel, German activist, warned against repeating Europe’s mistakes: “During the Holocaust, the world resisted too late. Today, we must stand with Iranians fighting for freedom before more lives are lost.”
Hermann-Josef Scharf, Saarland State Parliament member, said the rally reflects “60 years of resistance against dictatorship” and called for “an end to executions, IRGC blacklisting, and international recognition of Iranians’ right to decide their future.”

Sara Chandler, UK human rights lawyer, condemned Tehran’s crackdown on dissidents and lawyers alike: “With over 1,560 executions since July 2024, we demand an immediate halt to state killings and recognition of the Iranian people’s democratic aspirations.”
Nina Hansen, Norwegian journalist and LO trade union board member, sent a heartfelt message: “The executions of Mehdi Hassani and Behrouz Ehsani are heartbreaking. I salute everyone preparing for the Brussels rally and wish you great success.”
The 2025 Free Iran Rally on September 6 in Brussels is expected to draw tens of thousands and send a powerful message to governments worldwide: no to appeasement, no to tyranny, and yes to freedom and democracy for Iran.
