In a major political stance against Tehran’s expansionist policies, the majority of Jordan’s parliament has endorsed the democratic platform of the Iranian Resistance, condemned the regime’s destructive interference across the region, and called for the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.
The joint statement, signed by a parliamentary majority including two deputy speakers, twelve committee chairs—including those of Foreign Affairs, Legal Affairs, Human Rights, Women’s Issues, and Finance—and six deputy committee heads, aligns Jordan’s lawmakers with the global campaign supporting the Ten-Point Plan of Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
Citing the dangerous role of the IRGC in regional instability, the statement declares: “Only a firm policy can contain the regime’s warmongering. Appeasement merely encourages its terrorism and accelerates the nuclear threat.”
The signatories denounce the Iranian regime’s long record of regional aggression, emphasizing that its loss of strategic ground in Lebanon, Syria, and elsewhere has only hardened its resolve to cling to its ideology of domination.

“Despite losing hegemony in Lebanon, the rapid fall of the Syrian dictator, and retreat from other regional fronts, the Iranian regime continues its destructive interference because it is tied to its identity and survival,” the lawmakers write.
The statement also highlights the internal rejection of theocracy by the Iranian people: “In their uprisings, the Iranian people have rejected both the ruling religious dictatorship and the former monarchy. They demand a democratic republic.”
Lawmakers underscored that with all avenues for peaceful political expression blocked in Iran, the international community must recognize the right of the Iranian people—and the Resistance Units affiliated with the MEK—to resist tyranny and confront the IRGC.
“The right of the Iranian people and the MEK Resistance Units to resist the IRGC must be recognized, and the IRGC must be designated as a terrorist organization.”
The Jordanian parliamentary majority expressed full support for Maryam Rajavi’s democratic roadmap for Iran’s future. Her platform calls for universal suffrage, gender equality, separation of religion and state, abolition of the death penalty, and a non-nuclear Iran at peace with its neighbors.
Dr. Barakat Awjan, former #Jordanian Minister of Culture: "When it comes to the state that succeeded in incorporating its beliefs into the foundation of its ideology and political structure, it is Iran—the #Iran ruled by the authorities, not by the people. “This democratic alternative represents a path to a free Iran and a stable Middle East,” the statement reads.
The Jordanian MPs also referenced the June 2024 global declaration that garnered the support of over 4,000 parliamentarians and over 130 former presidents and prime ministers from across political lines in support of Rajavi’s plan.
“We join in that call for solidarity and support,” they concluded.
As Tehran continues to fuel unrest abroad and repression at home, the growing international recognition of Iran’s organized democratic alternative underscores a stark truth: the clerical regime’s strategy of survival through violence is being challenged on all fronts—by its people, its neighbors, and the world.
