IRAN: Khamenei rejects further talks with ‘Great Satan’ U.S.

Ali Khamenei

The Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said Wednesday that Tehran will not enter into talks with the United States outside of the nuclear deal with world powers as Washington could use other negotiations to “penetrate” the Islamic Republic.

“We approved talks with the United States about nuclear issue specifically. We have not allowed talks with the U.S. in other fields and we will not negotiate with them,” Khamenei said.

Khamenei reiterated that America remains the “Great Satan.” He also renewed his attacks on Israel, saying the “Zionist regime” won’t exist in 25 years.

“Americans in the Congress are plotting and passing bills against us… Negotiations are a tool for them to influence Iran and to impose their will,” he said. “The Iranian nation ousted the Satan. We should not let it back through the window to penetrate” us.

Digital Journal on Wednesday quoted Ali Safavi of the Washington office of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) as saying: “Khamenei’s remarks make it palpably clear that despite all the concessions offered by the P5+1during the nuclear talks, the regime in Tehran is bent on continuing its financial and military assistance to the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, the Houthis in Yemen, the Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Shiite militias in Iraq. The mullahs are not part of any regional solution, they are indeed the main source of the problem.”
