New Report: The Coronavirus Crisis in Iran

Causes of its outbreak and spread: Cover-up, deception, incompetence, and corruption.

The Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) on Friday, March 6, will publish a comprehensive report on the state of Coronavirus (COVID-19) to Iran and reasons for its rapid spread across the country.

The unique report that addresses a number of lingering key questions, is compiled based on information available in the public domain as on reports and intelligence obtained from within different levels of the Iranian regime as well as accounts by the Iranian Resistance’s sources within hospitals and medical centers.

As such the report sheds insight into a number of key questions:

  • Why Coronavirus spread so rapidly in Iran?
  • Why the regime delayed notifying the public about the threat?
  • What is the role of the IRGC? And who is profiting from this crisis in Iran?

After vehemently denying the virus had even entered into the country, authorities are now scrambling, albeit belatedly and incompetently, to deal with its uncontrollable spread to virtually every province. Even now, as 1,500 Iranians have already died and tens of thousands of have been infected, the regime continues to downplay the number fatalities and infected patients.
