Residents of Areas Hit by Guno are in a Catastrophic Situation

NCRI – Though a few days have passed, the Guno cyclone and the resulting flood have caused thousands of people in Sistan and Baluchestan province to live in catastrophic conditions because the clerical regime has merely sent no help.
In Dashtyari area, people lack drinking water and food. Risk of epidemic is very high. Numerous villages are surrounded by flood and no emergency relief has been sent.

On Sunday, a toll of 23 dead was reported but the figure is rising.
Many of the injured cannot get medical help in hospitals and medical centers. Devastation in some villages reaches 100% and has caused thousands homeless.

It is worth mentioning that a week before Guno, weather organizations had issued warnings. But the regime’s officials did nothing to prevent the deaths and damages or even dispatch accurate reports.

Reports indicate that people from other provinces have rushed with limited resources to assist the victims in Sistan and Baluchestan.

On June 7th, Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance, sent her condolences to the families of the victims and asked people in southern provinces to help those hit by the cyclone in Bandar Abbas, Chah Bahar, ports of Hormozgan as well as Sistan and Baluchestan.
