Egyptian official denies fabricated report by Iranian regime media

NCRI – An Egyptian official denied a report by the Iranian regime’s PRESS TV channel which had attributed to him remarks praising the mullahs in Iran as well as claiming that he had met with head of Iranian regime’s parliament during his visit to Sudan, Arabic language daily al-Sharq al-Awsat reported on Wednesday.

According to the daily, “Mohammed Saad El-Katatni, Secretary General of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP)  has not travelled to Sudan and he has never made any remarks,” his media advisor said in response to the questions on the report.

A statement published by FJP states that El-Katatni has not made any remarks to media about the Iranian revolution.

FJP’s media advisor said El-Katatni did not travel to Sudan, did not take part in any conference outside Egypt. He is in Cairo and has not made any remarks to the Egyptian or non-Egyptian media.

The Arabic daily writes that in the past the Iranian regime’s media had published “fabricated” remarks and interviews attributed to senior Egyptian officials.  Their most important “product” so far has been an interview with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi. Â
